Jonathan Swift (Swifty) and I walk at sunrise every single day. He is a four-year-old border collie-collie cross, rescued from a swamp where he existed with 23 other dogs who were thrown a raw muskrat carcass now and then for food. I am a survivor of MKULTRA mind-control experiments of the 1960s, and suffer from attacks of panic and depression. On this morning, Swifty sensed my melancholy mood, looked at the sunrise, looked back at me - and lay down, as if he was saying "you know what you have to do, now do it.†So that’s how this image came about.
