Description
COMMON LOON.
A sometime visitor to the lagoon, I was able to spot it on the far side and luckily it made it's way over to the ocean side of the lagoon. A bird that is hard to follow as it can travel a good distance paddling underwater in each of it's dives. The loon is also able to swim to a depth of 200 ft. It has nearly solid bones, making them heavier than many other birds and have eyes that focus both in air and under water.
