Description
They say patience is a virtue, but in wildlife photography, it’s a requirement. During our week at the beautiful Fawn Lake resort in BC, I spotted this Great Blue Heron several times. However, between the excitement of the kids and the general noise of vacation life, the timing was never quite right.
On my final evening, I headed out alone in my kayak. I wedged myself into a quiet bank and simply waited. I sat in the silence for over an hour as the sun began to dip, and then—perfection. The light hit just right, the water turned to glass, and this magnificent bird gave me the shot of a lifetime. A perfect end to an incredible week.
