Coming in For My Closeup

Description
We weren't planning on taking our dog to the lake, but we decided we might as well, since it wasn't much further down the road from where we were already headed. When we were done at the lake and about to leave, I noticed quite a big commotion happening across the lake. I wasn't sure what it was and definitely didn't think it was going to be a group of nearly 100 Surf Scoters. I wanted to stay longer, or come back in my own vehicle, which lucky for me, my mother in law was still at the lake with our niece and her dog. My niece and I hopped into my mother in laws car and drove to a spot we thought we could get a better look, which it turned out to be great spot! These guys swam in so close to where we were sitting, it was amazing. The sun kept tucking in behind the clouds and was also setting, so lighting was all over the place and so were my settings. I was just so happy to have been there when I was, we both just sat there completely amazed by these birds. This is a pretty rare occurrence for them to be here too, I have one seen them twice in the last few years, but never this many! Plus, they also had some Long-tailed Ducks and a Horned Grebe travelling with them.
