Dad’s on duty today while mom’s out hunting.
This male fox was looking after his five kits at a barn in South Glengarry, Ontario, and he had his hands full.
These kits were a bit older and one was even successful hunting its own meal — a squirrel.
Fox kits will stay with their parents for the first 7 months while they hone in on their hunting skills. Until these little ones become fully independent in the fall, mom and dad will always be there to protect.
