Description
A vibrant splash of color in the Great Bear Rainforest. This Red-throated Loon was spotted swimming through the lush green waters of the Khutzeymateen Inlet. Unlike other heavier loon species, these agile birds can take off straight into flight from smaller ponds and narrow coastal channels without a running start! I was pleased with the reflections of the forest on the water surrounding this beauty.
