Into the golden light!

Description
Arriving at Frank Lake, Alberta, just before dawn, I spent two to three hours sitting in the shoreline mud, immersed in the bustling morning activity of the migratory shorebirds. This Stilt Sandpiper stepped into the frame shortly after sunrise, brilliantly backlit by the morning’s first light. A low, eye-level perspective dissolved the shallow marsh into shimmering golden bokeh, rim lighting its elegant mid stride silhouette and illuminating clouds of tiny midges, making every cold, muddy minute worthwhile.
