A late-afternoon double rainbow appears over Elizabeth Bay, Manitoulin Island, Ontario.
In 1969 CBC crews filmed a Canadian television series around Barrie Island, Whitefish Falls, and Manitoulin Island. The show ran in 1970 and 1971: "Adventures in Rainbow Country" featured the adventures of teenagers in those Ontario locations. (A young Margot Kidder occasionally guest starred; the famous British actor David Hemmings also guest starred in one episode). Because of "Adventures," the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts became known to tourists as “Rainbow Country.” In the Gore Bay Library you can find a book by Jessie Munro called "True Tales out of Rainbow Country."
