The Biggest Camouflage

Despite their size, moose are really good at hiding and standing still. It's easy to be driving along the Hwy. 60 corridor in Algonquin Park and miss Canada's second biggest animal (only to the bison) standing in a roadside marsh. Even if they do have a big rack. Moose love hanging around in marshes because of the salt water - it just tastes so good! This big bull was in his heaven when he had his favourite drink at his feet and delicious vegetation at his side. He stopped for a moment to keep tabs on the photographer, but ultimately was unbothered because of the respectful distance. This photo was taken with a long lens, so the moose and the photographer both felt safe. What a wonderful moment to witness and share.
