That day I had decided to climb to the top of a 30 ft tree to take some pictures of an active Raven's nest. Unfortunately, by the time I had reached midway to the top my fear of heights overcame me and I could no longer climb any higher. Just before descending, I saw something that made this effort worth my while. I had looked over to a dead tree next to me, and I was startled to see two eyes staring strait back at me. The Northern Saw-whet owl had probably been watching me the whole time, and when I had climbed down, the bird continued to watch me. I adored how curious the animal was, watching me as if observing my own strange behaviors.
