This lone canoeist emerged from a heavy bank of fog on Pog Lake in Algonquin Park, Ontario. Only the gentle J-stroke of his paddle broke the silence. About an hour later this young man approached me on shore and said he could see only his own reflection while on the lake. He could not see the land nor trees or me. He remarked it was an incredible experience. It also was a magical moment for me as I watched his misty figure emerge from the thick fog.
