This shot was inspired by by a stroll on the ice of Pelican Pouch Lake, north of Kenora, Ontario on a beautiful afternoon in March. Always on the lookout for good photo opportunities, I noticed a pretty little island flirting with the main shoreline and made a mental note to return after leaf-out in the spring. Early in June, I took a number of shots of the tiny island just as the sun was coming up. This one which included my canoe was a personal favourite.
