What a spectacular night! After a long day of backcountry skiing, including my first summit on skis, I spent over two hours hanging out just below the Wapta Icefield watching the Northern Lights dancing across the sky above Bow Lake at the end of the valley. It was such a surreal experience, sitting there in -15°C, but not feeling the slightest bit cold, with the moon rising above the peaks behind me lighting up the valley below.
