Ground Squirrels are always fun to photograph and good for practicing various techniques. One challenge in the spring, in the Arctic, are the heat waves coming from the bare ground between the snow patches and affecting the focus. You have to get close or work during the cooler hours at night (midnight sun). Taken at Ulurvik, 30 miles north of Kugluktuk, Nunavut, in mid-May.
