Sunset, Water, Ice and Flurries

Field work in late spring means travelling on the sea-ice with the melting snow and ice creating a patchwork of ponds. Most of my photo gear is in a waterproof bag on the back of my snow-machine with only one camera and lens on my back for easy access. The ice under me is still over 4 foot thick. Travel is wet and slow, especially when pulling a sled with camping gears, gas and other equipment. North of Kugluktuk, Nunavut in late May. Note that the sun is actually not setting anymore and sunset lasts several hours until it becomes sunrise...
