A short-eared owl patrols the tundra at night in search of a meal. Taken in mid-August, near Kugluktuk, Nunavut.

Canon EOS 5D Mark III
EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM
Æ’/10.0 105.0 mm 1/125 400 Flash (on, fired, Canon speedlight)

Thank you for your comments.
For the lighting, I used only one flash mounted on my 5D because I shot this one handheld on the fly.
The exhibition in France granted me the Jury grand prize for my shot of the wolf under the northern lights.
