I spotted the Barred Owl perched, relaxed and resting before its night's activities. She was so calm and relaxed that i managed to get within 20 or 30 feet of her without her stirring at all. After about 30 minutes of us checking each other out, she silently and swiftly flew off into the surrounding thickets and was gone.
