Awesome shot Jeff - Love it - great colours! I am reading my reference book on use by First Nations, and I wonder if it is cambium juice - sap??? Depending on local conditions it is at its prime for harvesting for a short time in the spring. The cambium is probably thick and juicy right now for this tree. Apparently - it is supposed to be really good. Maybe this is what it is? It would be interesting to see if I am right from a tree expert ha ha ha :) Awesome shot!
