During a hike to Devil's Thumb we stopped to take a break on a cliff that overlooked the Plain of Six Glaciers valley below. As I stood to admire the awe-inspiring views and grandeur of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, I was pleasantly surprised to see a mountain goat staring back at me! The goat looked like it was showing off to us clumsy hikers how effortlessly it could trek along the steep and rugged mountain cliffs. I really wanted to bring out the depth and texture of the glacial valley and mountainous landscape this mountain goat calls home, so I tried using black and white monochrome which gave me the detail I was hoping for and brought out all the texture and depth of the rocky mountains and glacial valley.
