I had just wrapped up shooting for the day, as it was now almost dark in Algonquin Park. Heading west along Hwy # 60, I caught movement to to my left, stopped, pulled a quick U turn, and sure enough, there he stood. A beautifully large bull moose. Shooting roadside is challenging enough , but in the dark, with snow falling even more so.. I knew this big fellow wouldn't hang about long with the approaching traffic, now stopped. I cranked my iso up to 5000, opened my aperture to 2.8 and shot hand held at 1/60 and hoped for the best.. The results weren't terrific, but given the circumstance, and just the privilege afforded me to admire & observe this very large bull, I'll take it every day !
