I was taking photos of a squirrel in our backyard. She/he was digging its head completely under the snow to get at the nuts that were under the bird feeder. I was shooting through an open window and the squirrel was a little wary of me but was going about its business. And then it bolted. A bobcat had jumped up on our back fence. Clever squirrel, it ran towards the tree and therefore towards danger but was able to climb up the tree to safety just before the bobcat could get it. We have lived in our house for 20 years and this was the first time we had ever seen a bobcat in the neighbourhood.

So awesome that you were able to grab your camera in time to catch this lip smacking moment. Congratulations!

Bill, what a nice shot!! Isn't it great when things happen, and you have your camera ready? We've had bobcats in our yard in rural New Brunswick over the years, but the last time it happened, I still had a 35mm camera! Great job!!

Good shot, looks like he had anticipated squirrel for lunch.

Bill, nice shot!! Amazing what happens sometimes when you have your camera at the ready, isn't it? We've had a couple bobcats in our yard over the last forty years (rural New Brunswick) but the last time it happened, I still had a 35mm camera, to let you know how long ago that was! I love the texture of the cat's coat and the tree together. Great job!
