A Northern saw whet owl, trying to swallow the back half of a deer mouse that he had caught and ate... These little owls are amazing to watch as they eat... they will tear apart the front half of a deer mouse over a period of time, and then typically take a break for up to an hour, before trying to swallow the back half of the mouse in one go... which they somehow manage to do.
