Elk Island National Park has been a dream location for me as Bison have had me captivated since I was a young boy. No other animal transports my imagination back to a different time like seeing one of Canada’s true ancient marvels. North America’s largest land mammals are true spectacles and ambassadors to our wild, storied history. This is a Plains Bison and is slightly smaller and more brown then the Wood bison. This was a freezing sunny morning when light was playing sweet music with the tiny particles of freshly fallen snow and the breath from massive lungs. My happy place.
