Swan Family-02, Wild Goose Chase

By mid-march the pen had retired to her nest, while the cob maintained a vigil on their nesting pond. I had just gotten out of the car when I spotted the cob in persuit of two geese going ashore on the far bank. As he started to splash down in the pond, having vanquished the tresspassers, he spotted me and calmly swam over to investigate.
