McLaughlin Planetarium

After viewing Nasa's Hubble Space Telescope website, I was inspired to add these two images to the planetarium photo. I transposed an image of Mars over the dome, and one of the Milky Way as a background. I thought it blended reality and science fiction together rather well. Unfortunately, the planetarium shut down later that year :(.

I am a little dissappointed there were no comments on this image, as the planetarium soon shut down after I shot this, and eventually became office facilities for the Royal Ontario Museum. It was a sad loss to the public, and the scientific community when it was decommissiond in late 1995. I just hoped that some of the CG community in Ontario was old enough to remember the planetarium. I thought I payed proper homage to the philanthropist Colonel R. Samuel McLaughlin, who founded the planetarium in 1968.
