I have always loved wildlife. Born in Toronto, I worked at the Toronto Zoo as a zookeeper taking care of animals in the Canadian Domain while completing my studies at the University of Guelph in Wildlife biology. After graduation I moved to Vancouver Island, BC in 1991, where I studied rodent populations in forest blocks. I was always interested in photography, using darkroom skills to develop black and white photos back in high school. I started getting serious about wildlife photography 15 years ago, once my kids were grown up and I had more free time. I now spend my early mornings in the forest or at the ocean photographing all the amazing animals and birds that live on Vancouver Island. I also enjoy travelling to Africa, Iceland and Yellowstone National Park to photograph but my favourite locations are still here in British Columbia.
