Catherine became interested in photography at an early age when she had an opportunity to learn how to develop photos with her father in his darkroom. She remembers the awe she felt when, by the light of the red safe light, she saw her first black and white image appearing on the photo paper in the developer solution – as if by magic. She was hooked! What draws her to photography is her fascination with how she can trap light, shadows and colour in a permanent image and then view the moment in time again and again. Catherine volunteers as a photographer to help support charitable and non-profit organizations. She is open to doing most types of photography and she does not charge for this service. She only asks that her byline appears on any photos that are published. Catherine takes great pleasure in sharing her photos with her friends. In addition to her passion for photography, Catherine is passionately in love with living her life to the fullest and she always wants to be able to experience things that are new. She hopes to spend the rest of her life sharing her experiences with close, loving friends, either in person or through her photography. Catherine lives in Ottawa, Ontario, where she spends her time doing just about anything she wants to do.
